Icon stolen in Greece recovered

On 23 September 2006, Greek police recovered a valuable icon depicting the Virgin with child stolen a month ago from the Eloni Arkadia monastery in Leonidio Village, Greece. They arrested two Romanian nationals found in possession of the stolen work of art. The icon was included in INTERPOL’s works of art database, directly accessible to all member countries.
