Media invitation for 37th INTERPOL European Regional Conference
LYON, France – Senior law enforcement officials from across Europe will meet in Vilnius, Lithuania from 28 to 30 May for the 37th INTERPOL European Regional Conference.
The conference will focus on a range of issues, such as fighting trafficking in human beings and illegal immigration, combating organised crime and drug trafficking and expanding access to INTERPOL services beyond National Central Bureaus (NCBs).
The opening ceremony and speeches by INTERPOL Secretary General Ronald K. Noble and senior Lithuanian officials will be open to the media at 9.30am on Wednesday 28 May.
A press conference will be held immediately after the ceremony at approximately 10.15am, in which Secretary General Noble and senior Lithuanian officials will participate.
The conference itself is closed to the media, however a press briefing with specialist officers from INTERPOL will be held on the second day. Opening and closing press releases will also be issued and made available on the INTERPOL website.
Simultaneous translations of the press conference and public sessions will be available in English, French, Spanish and Lithuanian. The event will be held at the Reval Hotel Lietuva, Konstitucijos pr.20, Vilnius, Lithuania.
Journalists wishing to cover the event should complete the press accreditation form and send it, along with a photograph to Ms. Danutė Daunoravičiūtė at the Police Department under the Ministry of Interior, email interpol@policija.lt no later than Wednesday 21 May.
