29th European Regional Conference, 17th to 19th May 2000, Reykjavik,

We are pleased to inform you that 29th INTERPOL European Regional Conference
is scheduled to be held from 17th to 19th May 2000 in Reykjavik, Iceland. should
you wish to cover the proceedings, please ensure you apply for the necessary
authorisations either directly to the following address, or via the INTERPOL
National Central Bureau in your country:

All applications should be sent in writing and should specify the persons
name and professional card no., and indicate what branch of the media he/she
works in. They should be accompanied by a passport-size photograph, so that
the Icelandic Police Public Relations Department can prepare identification
badges.
We would also stress that no media representatives will be allowed to attend
the conference proceedings. however,
journalists may contact any delegates they wish to interview via the public
relations office which will operate throughout the conference.
As is the practice at regional conferences, on 17th may 2000, immediately after
the opening ceremony, a press conference will be given at which senior officials
from the host country and from the general secretariat will brief the media
on the topics to be discussed during the conference. On 19th may 2000, immediately
after the closing ceremony, a second press conference will be held to report
on the proceedings and conclusions of the conference.
