Interpol - General Assembly 73rd Session - Cancún, 5 - 8 October 2004

The ICPO-Interpol General Assembly, meeting in Cancún from 5 to 8 October 2004 at its 73rd session:

NOTING THE CONTENT of Report AG-2004-RAP-03 submitted by the General Secretariat concerning the Revision of the Staff Manual, and the amendments to the Staff Regulations proposed therein,

ACKNOWLEDGING that consultation has taken place with the Staff Committee of the General Secretariat on the proposed amendments,

RECOGNIZING that evolutions have occurred in the Organization's human resources management and in international civil service law since a last comprehensive revision of the Staff Regulations was made,

CONSCIOUS of the need to simplify and adapt the existing Staff Regulations to take into account such evolutions,

NOTING the opinion of the ad hoc Committee set up in application of Article 56 of the Organization's General Regulations,

APPROVES the amended Staff Regulations as set out in Appendix 2 of Report AG-2004-RAP-03;

DECIDES that the amended set of Staff Regulations shall enter into force on 1 January 2005, without prejudice to the rights acquired by officials of the Organization recruited prior to that date.
