The Americas regional workshop on preventing bioterrorism takes place from 10-12 July in Santiago, Chile, and is aimed at educating senior law enforcement officials in areas such as biohazards, laboratory security and bioterrorism identification. Participants from 27 countries are attending, with input from international scientific and legal experts.

The workshop, which follows workshops for Africa and Asia, also sees the launch of Interpol's new Bioterrorism Incident Pre-Planning & Response Guide
