The first Interpol bioterrorism workshop took place in Cape Town, South Africa from 21 to 23 November 2005 and aimed to encourage greater recognition and response development to the threat of bioterrorism in their countries. More than 90 participants from 41 African countries were attending with input from the law enforcement, scientific, legal community.
