General conditions of use
The provisions of the text below apply to all elements contained within
the Interpol website (information, logos, images, etc.). Warning or information
messages may also complement these provisions where such a message is attached
to the information provided.
1 - Conditions for the use of information on this web-site
Downloading Interpol's distinctive signs such as the Organization's emblem
is prohibited.
Downloading other information from the site is authorized provided that:
- the information is not amended in any way,
- the information is only used in accordance with the preventive aims and
objectives of the site, as defined in "About the site",
- no nominal information is downloaded with a view to creating a database
(regardless of the search criteria applicable to that database).
2 - Use of information sent directly to the site
Any messages or documents sent to the site in the form of questions, comments,
suggestions, etc. are to be considered non-confidential, unless there are instructions
to the contrary. Interpol has no obligation as far as messages sent to the site
are concerned and may use, reproduce, disclose or change them without prior
authorization.
If you visit our site to read or download information, such as career opportunities,
press releases, etc., we collect and store only the following information about
you:
- The name of the domain,
- the type of Browser and operating system used to access our site,
- the date and time you access our site,
- the Internet address of the web site from which you linked directly to our
site
- and the pages you visit.
If you identify yourself by sending an E-mail containing personal information:
You may volunteer to provide us information which identifies you personnally,
for example your mailing address, in an electronic mail message requesting that
information be mailed to you. Information collected in this manner may be used
for responding to requests for information.
For site management, information from both categories is collected for statistical
purposes. Our computer system uses software programs to create summary statistics,
which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and
least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying
system performance or problem areas.
3 - Security
For site security purposes, and to ensure that this service remains available
to all users, all network traffic is monitored in order to identify unauthorised
attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage or conduct
criminal activity. To protect the system from unauthorised use and to ensure
that the system is functioning properly, individuals using this computer system
are subject to having all of their activities monitored and recorded by system
personnel. Anyone using this system expressly consents to such monitoring and
is advised that if such monitoring reveals evidence of possible abuse or criminal
activity, system personnel may provide the results of such monitoring to appropriate
officials. Unauthorised attempts to upload or change information on this service
are strictly prohibited and may be punishable.
